Inner Temple: Careers at the Bar

The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, one of the four barrister Inns of Court of England and Wales, will be attending a number of events and law fairs across the UK this autumn.

We are holding 4 regional presentations in October as well as a reception on the North-Eastern Circuit in November.  These provide an opportunity for your students to talk to barristers and to find out more about life at the Bar.

Scholarships
With a long-standing commitment to social responsibility, our ambition at the Inner Temple is to ensure that no one with the necessary talent is prevented from coming to the Bar solely due to financial need. The Inn intends to make scholarship awards to a total value of over £1,460,000 for 2013 course entry. Please note that the deadline for scholarship applications for the 2013-14 Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) across the 4 Inns is 2nd November 2012. Deadlines for scholarships for the law ‘conversion course’ (CPE/GDL) is 3rd May 2013.  You can find more information on our website by going to: http://www.innertemple.org.uk/, Prospective Members and Scholarships.

Pegasus Access Scheme
The Inner Temple, in association with over fifty participating Chambers, has recently launched a scheme to help ensure that all students have the opportunity to undertake a mini-pupillage. University students from under-represented backgrounds in the profession are invited to apply and if successful will be placed with one of the participating Chambers. Applications are currently open for the autumn round, and will close on 12th October 2012.  For more information please visit www.pegasus.me.
