Research Assistant - Law Commission
Research Assistants carry a considerable responsibility for analysing the law on given topics with a view to identifying problems and their implications, and developing a range of solutions. They work closely with the Commissioners and qualified lawyers, and take part in meetings and discussions with Government officials, the judiciary, expert practitioners, industry bodies and other interested parties. Research Assistants are encouraged to put forward their own ideas to assist in the development of proposals for reform. Their direct policy contribution, and their support of the general policy work of the team, enables Research Assistants to influence the development of the law. The posts are on a fixed term basis, for approximately 51 Weeks. The start date will be 3 September 2012.
