The Probation Service in the East Midlands is looking for volunteers to become mentors for its new REACH Project which aims to increase employability of offenders whose multiple needs and risks de-motivate them in the current job market. The project will target higher need offenders including those who are serving less than twelve months in custody who are often released without support and who face additional barriers to employment. Identified groups include women, BME offenders, over 50's, lone parents, NEET's and people with learning disabilities.
Project Volunteer Mentors will provide additional support & guidance including assistance in completing forms, attending appointments & job interviews.
Training will be provided and all volunteers will require an enhanced CRB check.
